  1. Naturally, I don't know what the new 'franchise' system entails but previously there was talk of RVers getting together to buy a RV park on their own. You'd have to have some big bucks to do this nowadays! https://tucson.com/business/tucson-real-estate-popular-rv-park-sells-to-phoenix-investors/article_c592d2aa-9ba6-11eb-86f9-9bc2d4631675.html
  2. I also like cats. I was just thinking of when we lived in a house and cats would come over the fence and dig in my flowers and garden to bury the poop. They also sat in a nearby tree to the bird water and pounced on the birds; sometimes grabbing them. Again, I like cats and enjoy being around them when visiting friends - inside.
  3. Do you pick up after it as dog owners need to?
  4. Is this tour what you're looking for? https://horseshoebendtours.com/ Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyon is also known as Secret Canyon. Horseshoe Bend Overlook is completely different. The Overlook you can easily do on your own. Parking is at Hwy 89 and then it's a short walk to the Overlook (no sand). These may also help you: ... an excellent guide to Monument Valley and the surrounding area: https://capturetheatlas.com/visit-monument-valley/ https://capturetheatlas.com/visit-horseshoe-bend-page/ Keep in mind that the tour information probably isn't current.
  5. You do beautiful photography wherever you go! Enjoy looking at them.
  6. I still think calling customer service is the best way. Paper 'tends' to get lost. We recently got an issue solved fast and easy by calling.
  7. Why do you want her out? It seems it prefers to be in! Even though you found it outside she may have been an inside kitten. There's nothing wrong with an inside cat.... they tend to be healthier.
  8. Yes, our podiatry appts. are covered. We have Medicare and a supplement.
  9. You don't have to go to a 'salon'. Podiatrists cut nails.
  10. Instead of doing a 'chat' on Amazon, give the customer service # a call.
  11. This may help you: https://www.yourhikeguide.com/antelope-canyon/ The Upper Canyon is used for elderly/disabled tour groups. It's the busiest. Go between 11-2pm for best lighting
  12. Here are Amazon's selection. I don't recall what brand we used. Get big ones - 12x12 for all over wipes. They're expensive, unfortunately but for short-term perhaps doable. Get a pkg. of smaller 10x9 or whatever, regular size wipes to supplement. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=every+hero+full+body+wipes&ref=nb_sb_noss Your steps are perfect! You'll do just fine!!
  13. Amazon has a lot of handicap aids... toilet risers may help. As Linda stated... if you have room placing the walker on the sides of the toilet could give a lift & also could stabilize a man as he stands. Crutches are dangerous. Get a walker instead. For a knee replacement you want to use that leg immediately. Don't baby it. Check the city you're in and many times there are places to borrow medical equipment. Ask your doctor. Definitely don't try to use crutches coming out of a RV! We both had knee replacements and other surgeries while living in the RV & honestly, we thought it was easy to get around because there's always something nearby to hold onto. They make very large disposable bath wipes.... not the same as a shower but they really help for the first week or so. Getting outside.. we were lucky to have a nice large grabbar to one side and the door was on the other side so had something on both sides to hold onto. Having someone to stand there helped, also. When discharged from the hospital quite often you're assigned a home aide crew.. nurse, physical therapy and occupational therapy. Medicare pays for it. Therefore, you don't even have to leave the RV to have PT. They will come to a RV & they have lots of good ideas on how to do things. Many have had surgeries while in the RV so it can be done. You'll figure it out as you go. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=handicap+bathroom+aids&i=hpc&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
  14. Sorry... another subject, but once you get the RV issue settled keep in mind that a subgroup of Escapees is called Xscapers. This group is geared to those still working while on the road. They may be of help to you. https://xscapers.com/
  15. Here's a good read on the subject of not having side effects. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/if-you-dont-have-covid-vaccine-side-effects-are-you-still-protected/
  16. Try this.... at the very bottom of the page you can click on Verizon, AT&T, etc. https://www.speedcheck.org/
  17. This makes sense. It can be a madhouse at the top with people driving round and round to find a parking space. If there's no room at the top why keep letting people drive up?
  18. I also don't believe it was from the initial vaccination but just a coincidence of timing when the rash first appeared. You need to see a dermatologist. We traveled as full-timers and never had an issue with using a particular doctor in another state whom we saw previously to call and ask questions or to get a prescription. Perhaps with the new Zoom doctoring there are now different regulations. As we age rashes are common. Our skin is dryer, thinner and more fragile. See a dermatologist.
  19. Here are a couple of descriptions: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/what-is-vaccine-efficacy#Efficacy-versus-effectiveness https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/experts-answer-the-biggest-covid-vaccine-questions1/
  20. This is awesome! https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2021/03/31/mother-bear-and-cubs-cross-road-moos-pkg-vpx.cnn
  21. Once you start downsizing it truly is liberating.... at least for us it was. It's amazing the 'free' feeling once you move into your RV..... much less clutter, less cleaning, less things to worry about. Of course, it seems like you'll be putting everything in storage but didn't say why. Storage fees are high. At least try to get rid of things you never use or even forgot you had to save money. Good luck to you in your new lifestyle!!
  22. In 8 yr. we never spent a night anywhere but our motorhome and never had to rent a car. It's no issue.
  23. It may be worthwhile when you're closer and ready to go is to just have an auction or estate sale. They know how to advertise to the right buyers, you'll save the headache of running all around trying to sell stuff or from always being 'on call' for people to phone you or come to your house or the many that will phone & set up a time and then don't show. In the long run it may be cheaper and you'll get rid of it in a day. Most folks will not appreciate the things you have for sentimental reasons so you're not going to get top dollar from things you think should be worth more. We were never collectors of 'stuff' so it was so much easier.
