  1. Yep that is exactly what I want to do but wasn't sure how to go about it.

    Name Change

Unfortunately there is no more jenandjon. We have decided to part ways. I am keeping the truck and trailer for future travel with the boys. Trying to decide on an new user name. When that day comes and my name disappears then some new guy shows up its just me.
  3. Did you build or buy the turnover ball Plate? My comfort ride hitch sits on 3/4 inch plate. I want to put a turn over ball under the comfort ride. Sure I would have to unbolt the comfort ride when I wanted to use the ball but that is no big deal. Its not like I would be switching every other day.
  4. Sorry I haven't been around for a while. About 5 grand for the pair the last time I had to get a cut off. The prices are all over the place right now. Things are selling cheap.
  5. I watch auctions constantly. It's weird hobby of mine. I have seen the 5th wheel sell for anywhere from $1 to $500. That rearend should be worth a couple hundred. Thats a tough market because you are selling only one.
  6. Yep, makes sense. I have seen the 5-hole wheels on trailers. I don't have any on our trailers. But they are all triple axels meant for heavy haul and off road.
  7. That is good to know. When I built my truck in 2018 the general consensus was not to get an air ride pin box because even with the comfort ride they would fight against each other.
  8. Congratulations. Getting a new toy is always exciting. 09 so that should be pre DEF.
  9. I'm sorry its early and I haven't had much coffee yet I just wat to make verify I understand what you are saying. You are say that the wheels they put on semi trailers are different than what they put on the trucks?
  10. I have to strongly disagree. You can run just the outers or duals the bearings don't care. Yes, I too have been around trucks all my life. I have asked a truck builder friend and several mechanics, and they all say it don't matter.
  11. The only thing really in the way of adding seats in the back is the HVAC system. I used the front seats out of early 2000s chevy trucks. They have built in seat belts. I put them in so that they can still slide back and forth. The tan seat in the picture sits in front of the HVAC and the other seats can slide forward so they are all in the row. There is an incredible amount of room behind the seats for storage. I paid 50$ apiece for the seats. I tried to get all matching, but beggars can't be choosers. I have heard that some people use sprinter van seats because they can get 5 in a row back there. I have nothing against that, but I think it is a poor choice unless you really need 5 seats. Kids grow. I'm a big guy. Not huge but I'm 6 ft 245. I sat in a sprinter van seat once. Not very comfortable. There are high school kids bigger than me. I would not expect them to sit in that little sprinter van seat on some long trips. I used 4x4 tube to block up the seats, so it is comfortable for adults to sit back there. Not the best pictures. I dint realize I had oil on my phone when I took them. I used 1/2 bolts to bolt them through the floor. I made some large washers out of 1/4-inch plate to put on the bottom. They are 3-4 inches across. They are that big because if we were in an accident I don't want the bolts to rip out. This is in a 03 freightliner. If I remember in my Peterbilt the HVAC didn't sit back in the corner. I think it was on the driver side under the front of the bunk. That may be a challenge.
  12. You will drive yourself crazy trying to stop them all.
  13. I emailed the company and I received this back. They claim I can use these with rubber or metal valve stems.
  14. I don't know if metal stems are compatible with these wheels.
  15. Just a good reminder to do those pre trip inspections. I did my pre trip and found that the fan belt looked rough and I said to myself I will get one when I quit for lunch and put it on at the end of the day. Part of that was true. I did go get a belt at lunch time. That was all the longer it lasted. The belt shredded and the engine immediately overheated. I had to call someone to come get me, Go to town. Get a belt. Have lunch then go back home. Get the service truck and drive all the way out to where I was broke down. Lucky I was able to coast to one of our farm fields and pull in there. The little voice in the back of my head was saying change it now before you start but I said it'll last another day we got work to do.
