soos
Where does the camping happen? The link does not give a location. I have no idea if I will be there then but, if so, I'd like to do this. How late can I reserve? Linda Linda, the camping is at SARA park. Its just a parking lot. I have no idea if or when they will sell out, but if you figure out that you'll be there you can check it out at that point. worse case u can boondock on BLM land and v isit us for the show. IYQ
The Mesquite Pancake breakfast went off without a hitch this morning. We didn't have quite as many people pratisapate this time but I think that was because the word didn't get out soon enough. I'll put on one more breakfast in mid October when the bigest bunch of the old timers are here. Then If they want more they can send for the Mesquite flour themselves. Some one else has something planned for happy hour this evening but I have no idea what it is. It might be a wine sampling by a guy who has been making small batches of different types of wine. I told him about Pumkin Jake and I know he bought a pumking and started it a while ago. Maybe he got it done and is sampling it today. When I was a boy my step dad made pumpkin Jack and kept it in a dish pan under my bed. IYQ
Lee - What's your travel sac about? Any idea what you're going to be doing this winter? My plans for this winter are written in greek and I don't know how to read in greek. In other words I don't have the foggiest idea about this winter. I'm going to try to make it to the gathering whenever and wherever that may be. and may spend some time in Tucson or Yuma. early on I'll probably hop around the NM State parks that are at lower elevations. I'll keep my place here in Deming because If I give it up I'll never be able to get it again. Everyone wants this site. Travel Sac is the trade name of a Queen sized sleeping bag with removable sheets. It's thick on one side for winter use and thin on the other for the summer. It sure is handy for RV'ers. The sheet ataches with velcro and there are double zippers so you can get into either side. I took 3 cowgirls out to the truck stop for dinner last night. About half an hour after we got there another group from Low Hi came in with 3 men and one cowgirl. I told the guys I'd give them lessons for a price. Nothing on the agenda for today. I might take that long drive. I read the reviews and they were dated June 2014. One reviewer only gave 4 stars because the sheet in the new Travasak didn't come out of the washer wrinkle free like the old sheets do. You can also get replacement sheets at Camping World. rmcf308
Just had a great time meeting Roadhouse Charley and his lovely wife Deloris, Charley has been trying all week to set a date to get together but things kept getting in the way. Well today Janice and I a decided to go to a local Apple festival. Jeri- Washington is not the only place that grows apples. We had just got there when I got phone call from a Virginia number. I answered it and it was Charley, they had just arrived at the Apple festival also with their in-laws. We meet in front of a bunch of antique tractors (probably some Lee had driven when new)and talked for a while. Paul and Sue did not get talked about at all. We don't know where we are going to be this winter but Charley and Deloris plan on being in Fla. It was great to meet Charley and Deloris after reading their posts. Great catch Paul and Sue for getting them to join the group. Jerry and Janice Quote http://www.toadswildadventures.blogspot.com/ Just travelin' down life's highway-toot-toot! IYQ
I've been so busy I don't remember what I did. Or maybe I just dreamed I was busy. Oh well you know Sundays they aren't the most active days in the month. I had Breakfast in town then this evening I had Pizza in town with one of the Cowgirls. I made a earth ring around two of the trees I had planted earlier this year then filled it with water. of course in washed out a hole in it and all the water ran out so I fixed it again. Then two very large dogs that don't belong in the park wandered in and decided that was a nice mud hole to play in and really messed it up. I fixed it again this evening. I wonder if it well make it through the night. steved44
Congratulations Tina & Jeff, hope you have many more years "on the road"! We look forward to the next time our paths cross! We'll dig up some of that vintage cranberry juice and have a toast! Lee, you had better "post a guard" on those trees to keep everything from attacking them! Maybe call out the national guard, and tell them it's a training exercise, and they need to start with trees and work their way up to fences!! roadhousecharley
Charley, one day we can get together and go ride. I have an old Kawasaki in storage near San Antonio. IYQ
Monday morning at the Ranch and not a thing that interest me. I'm over in the shop today searching through old DVD's full of photos from long long ago trying to find a photo of my garden in full bloom. So far no find. I only have about 15,000 photos to look through so I don't think I'll live long enough to find that particular one. I didn't name all the photos I saved so It don't do much good to try the Search program. I only have about 8 DVDs full of photos over here in the shop so will bring another batch over here next time. So back to doing nothing for the day. Maybe I can have some fun swatting flies.
