soos
Hey Steve, glad to hear that your new "Bessie Bus" purchase went fairly smooth! Looking forward to seeing it. Sounds like the guy you bought it from really kept up on the maintenance, etc. I like the fact that it has the Silverleaf system. We have the Aladdin and tho it was great in it's time they stopped making it and could be tricky getting parts. Heard that others are swapping the Aladdin for the Silver and can be pricey of course. Better get outta the north midwest as last year it started snowing in October and never stopped! We arrived safely at Park Sierra yesterday after stopping off in Fresno to get an estimate for the tow damage. It would take a week to do it and would have to stay in a motel...ugh. I'm sure gonna let CoachNet know about that expense too! Safe travels all, Roger Geez we just missed you. we've been in Pinnacles National Park for 2 days. we're back in Fresno now but hope to leave here Saturday for good. Headed to Texas. Striper
will head to a Freightliner shop in Sparks Nevada in the morning. To have everything check out. Guessing you mean Sierra Freight liner. Hope they don't have to order any parts. I spent 2 days there recently to get new muffler straps installed. Work seems to be fine, just not real happy with seeming casual attitude toward getting me back on the road. palamine
Thanks to Freddy and Delcie and Mike and Julie for the recommendation for Cochiti Lake, near Santa Fe. It's gorgeous. We got a pull through site not overlooking the lake but the little town. Doug found out that for $1.00 there is a bus that goes to Santa Fe every 20 minutes. We will go sight seeing tomorrow and stay another. Thanks guys. Work seems to be fine, just not real happy with seeming casual attitude toward getting me back on the road. Joe I see what ya mean. I dropped it off at 9:30am and came back at 2 to check on it. It just got pulled around as we got here. Took them a couple hours to do the reflash and try to figure out the air issue. At 6pm they figured they needed to change out the compressor governor. Luckily they have one in stock but it's to late to do it tonight so we are camping in the parking lot for the night. We will keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow. The bummer thing is when I unhooked the jeep today the brakes felt really bad so I took it to the dealer and had them checked out. The pads were toast. They must have gotten much hotter than I thought. And the rotor was pretty scorch so I had new pads put on and turned the rotors. For safety I had the change the brake fluid as well. Not a great couple of days but not as bad as some I have read about here lately. steved44
Dang, Dave, sounds like the Air Force 1 unit has been putting the brakes on too much. Do you have an indicator letting you know when it activates? My M&G only goes on when you put the service brakes on, not when you use the "jake brake", maybe something is going on there. Hope you get it fixed ok. IYQ
I've been a busy boy today mostly book work and correcting errors in the info I had to send to SD for a new title. Also snuck in a trip to Wally World there somewhere and also to the bank. What really took some time is My phone wouldn't charge it's battery so I went to Verizon and got a new one. The gal promised everything would be transferred. A whole bunch was missed. I'd sure like to dunk her braids in the ink well. I still have a lot of statements to ballance but that can wait until I get a round tuit. Do they still make those things? My cleaning gal took a day off to go 4 wheeling. I'll remember that when I have another job to be done. She knows I'm in a hurry to get that trailer over to the repair shop. Better Luck Tomorrow. Hope you get it fixed ok. The Air Force 1 is only activated when I apply the service brakes as well (well supposed to) that's why I chose it. I had a light in the last rig that showed when it was activated but in this coach there was some issue with not having enough wires and I guess I should have had them run one but didn't. Costly mistake maybe. Onthego
Tuesday evening the flu bug got to Tina and me. palamine
This morning Doug hiked the Tent Rocks National Monument. Took a lot longer than he thought. So we had a late start but made Galllup, New Mexico at 5:00. What a busy, noisy Walmart. We will be fine. Up early tomorrow and we will try to make Quartzsite tomorrow and then Yuma the next day. Yeah, I know it's plenty hot there but we have to get Doug's tooth fixed. So we will be at Pilot Knob for a while, probably 2 or 3 weeks. Drop by. IYQ
Another week bit the dust. I've been so busy trying to get the little trailer Titled and fixed up that it hasn't left much time for anything else. Today I used up most of the morning watering trees and working on the trailer. I took a cowgirl out to dinner and now I'm back in the rig wondering where the day went. I still have a bunch of Bank statements to balance and an ICE (In Case of Emergency) form to make out for the park's records. Things that used to take me 5 minutes to do now seem to take half a day. I think it is trying to be Summer around here again. It has been in the high 80's for the past few days. Maybe some of you Northerners can bring a little of that white stuff down here and cool it off again. But don't bring very much. A little goes a long way. I got an email from Denise yesterday or was that this morning? She is over in Las Cruces at Lee's Ferry State Park and will be there for about a week then she will drop by here to say Hi. She is heading for Yuma but dragging her feet hoping it will cool down over there. When she gets here, I have a cowgirl that has been following her Blog that would like to meet her. So I'll take them both to dinner and let them gab.
