Wanderin
That is where we stayed when we were on the RV tour. They had a tour bus for our trips into the city. Jeri - I'm sure we'll see each other in Florida. Maybe we'll have a class less get together too. LOL. You going to do the Tampa RV show in January? We finally saw the sun today but could have rain in the morning. Yuck. Jeff January? Hmm. I don't know much about the Tampa RV show. We really don't have a lot of plans yet. I'm guessing eventually we'll have to get down to that and figuring out where everyone else is going to be. Other than being around the Pensacola area sometime in very late October or November, we may just wing it. However, we are interested in Bonita Springs, Sanibel Island and Key West and the rest of Florida. Where you gonna be? soos
Jeri, if you want to spend any amount of time in the keys, its one of the few place you can't "wing" very well. Most places book up early. That being said, there IS one Elks Lodge in the Keys that has parking. We got tired of waiting to hear from the city about our build permit, while sweltering in the heat, so we left. That being said, there IS one Elks Lodge in the Keys that has parking. The lodge is in Tavernier and they recommend reservations. Two years ago we spent 2 nights there at $35 a night. We lucked into 3 nights at Bahia Honda (30+miles from Key West) in early December then also. Made the reservation in June. Tampa RV show is a real RV show. Lots of RV's to look at and the other stuff too. We plan to work our way down the east coast of Florida before Christmas. After that it's still up in the air. Travel safe everyone. Roger & Lynn
Sounds like a few of the Class-less will be spending time on the east coast this year. Looks like we will be part of the "eastern gang" and of course it is mostly due to scheduled repairs to the MH that we've lined up in Elkhart! However, it should be a fun group and we are looking forward to hooking up with them and getting in some exploration of a few States that we've missed. IYQ
Everyone else is talking about where they will be spending their time. All I can talk about is where I'll be spending my money. It's a mess trying to figure out a time schedule. If I order that new Class C now it will be ready for pick up in mid July but my cataract procedure is scheduled for 23 June and that means the one month check up will be mid to late July and I won't be getting new glasses untill late August. So if I order now and have them hold the MH at the dealer then head for Iowa right after the one month Eye check up then come strait back here for the next check up and fitting for glasses I might be able to fit it all in but it would sure mess up my plan to run around up in the cool country during the hot weather here. And if something goes haywire with the schedule something is going to be missed because I won't be in the right place at the right time. Its a predicament. IYQ
Just checking in. I think my deal for the 2016 winnebago view 24V is on the rocks. The salesman doesn't call when he says he will but turns around and sends a long email saying he hasn't heard from me in over a month when I've called him 3 times in the past 4 days asking for a date the rig will be ready for pickup or he is on the phone with another customer so I ask the receptionist to have him call me back which he does not do. So yesterday I replied to his stupid email and gave him a piece of my mind. He hasn't called yet today to try and save the sale and I'm at the point of telling him where he can put that motorhome. If he doesn't call by noon I'll start negotiations with some other dealer that is within 500 miles of here so I don't have to worry about scheduling a trip across the country to go get it. steved44
Bummer Lee, they obviously don't know who they are dealing with! We can turn the flux capacitor up to MAX and burning laser beams will cook their dealership for years to come. It's a sad state of affairs when a sure sale is not treated with the respect it should be. I would walk from that, and find a dealer who appreciates a good customer. IYQ
Well, I got several calls from the salesman yesterday and today. Boy was he full of apologies. He said he didn't return my call Thursday because that is his day off because he works Saturdays. When the receptionist tried to connect me to his phone someone was talking on it so she thought it was him. As for the stupid email he said it was automatically generated but it was his fault because he failed to turn it off after talking to me the last time. Yesterday just befor quiting time he called and said he had everything I requested except the cost of putting window awning on all windows and the parts department was closing so he'd try to get the info Friday (This morning) about noon today he called and said he still didn't have the info from the part's department and wanted to know if I wanted him to send the other info at that time because the parts department isn't open on Saturday and it would be monday before he could get it. But if I was in agreement with the info he has now I could order Saturday morning and lock in one of the two RV's they have on order for delivery on the 26th of August befor the other salesmen could sell them out from under me. I told him no send it all Monday If some on else buys them I have two other dealers who say they can match the price he gave me. The two dealers are Canping World of El Paso and Le Mesa of Tucson. I don't realy think they can match the price. Camping World said he'd call me back this morning but didn't and when I was over there a couple weeks ago they said $103K was their lowest price which is $11K too high. If I do miss getting the rig in late August I'll just wait till next May because I have to go to S Dakota to get my drivers license anyway. I'll bet I can get his price down another $3K because every one will have them by then.
