The Class-less Class

We stayed at Plomosa Road for a while outside of Q and just went in and dumped and picked up water at the Pit Stop in town when needed. And we stayed in Scaddan Wash for a few days but had a lot of freeway noise. We have stayed at LAPOSA South as well but it was a lot more crowded and dusty but had a good time.

well, we don't have kayaks. Our boat has an engine, so if any of you kayakers run into trouble, you can just holler and we'll tow you upriver!

Linda, we aren't members of Emerald Cove. Don't you need to be members to stay there? not sure where we'll stay yet. Not even sure when we'll get there!

Emerald Cove is a membership park but Jeri comes in on her Thousand Trails membership and anyone can come free for a few days IF they are willing to listen to the sales talk.

Another do nothing day. There are no campers but me this weekend but today there where a bunch of people down at the beach. Its about 500 yard down there but I had a steady string of young folks cuttings through my site to get to the pit toilets, especially girls. There was always a line of 4 or 5 girls waiting to get in. Some of the dances they were doing were not taught by Arthur Murray. I did get a couple of coats of Spar Urethane on that marker I carved. And I put the tow bar back in the truck receiver ready to hook up Monday morning. So the day wasn't a complete loss.

Lee, have those girls not heard of "going in the water"? The fish do! :P

Our boat has a motor too, and we found out in Charleston last year that it will tow 4 kayaks with no problem :P . We were with a group of 15 kayaks, when the tide turned against them and we wound up "ferrying" them back to the dock area. We were definitely the hero's of the campfire that night :D . One campground we stayed at last time in the Parker area was the county park just north of town. We wound up there longer than we expected because we ground up a slide motor while getting ready to leave and had to deal with that. Nice campground, and they have a big flea market there every week. Golf course right there too!

We liked Laposa South because of the proximity of the dump station. We stayed on the north side too and drove back to town to the propane/dump station. Took a little longer that way, but only had to fill and dump about every 6 days, so not too bad. It might be nice to be a little closer to the main tent area for a change, but we'll go where everyone wants to "hang out".

We're leaving Oklahoma for Colorado this Wednesday, so finally will get our pin pulled out of the ground. Steve

We won't be in Az. this winter but a suggestion for a gather spot is the Imperial Dam LTVA. Just north of Yuma. We stayed out a Sidewinder after Q last year for the first time and our complaint there is highway noise. The only time it slowed down on I-8 was Sunday morning. All day and night.

A good day for farmers, ducks and fish but really a stinker for rv'ers. its been raining off and on all day. Every time I tried to get a little fresh air, I got wet instead. I have very tired thumbs from twiddling them all day. I hope it doesn't try to drown me when I hook up to leave for Eagle Nest in the morning. I have to dump here before I go cuz Eagle nest doesn't have a dump. All in life of a full timer. I guess I'll just grin and bare it. But I ain't going to tell you just what "IT" is.

YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW, finally got to move my pin. Of course it was stuck so bad I needed a big Backhoe to dig it out first. Moved all the way to Lynden, WA. I can hear them saying "EH" from my campsite.

I back in Eagle Nest now. It's a bit cooler here. And the first thing I did was make a date with a cowgirl for dinner tonight. I have to get back in practice you know. I also called for my mail to be sent. It's been a while. Tomorrow I'll go to the store and stock up and Thursday I get a haircut. ( people have begun to pet me and pat my head instead of shake my hand. One gal did shake my hand but then she gave me a dog biscuit). This barber is real good but he only works on Thursdays. It feels good to be back in civilization.

For all of you kayakers and boaters out there, take a look at Senator Wash Recreation area, just outside of Yuma. I have read were it is a great place to camp on BLM land and enjoy water sports. Some of the camping may be in CA however.

travel safe and enjoy the ride

What have I missed about California?

Paul one of our newer members has a rig that would be illegal in CA. Or because of the licence he holds it would be Illegal for him to drive it in CA. I forgot which.

It's not OUR fault we're not going east. :( Justin won't be having a homecoming for a mighty long time now we think. I didn't ask them to send him to Syria! Do you think it would help if I called his admiral to send a helicopter to take him off that ship?? Needless to say, our ears are glued to the news. Kind of like Vietnam when Terry was there ... deja vous.

So since this timing thing is changing, we're having a quandary of when and what. You're expecting them the first week? When are you kicking them out and when can we expect them a little farther south ... nope -- not going north again until next year. Can't go north just to go south. Anyway, been looking at stops along the way ... sure like the idea of San Diego but don't know where we'll end up.

Ok I get it, not your fault. :P As for them Canadians, I didn't put a limit on their stay, but if it goes past Oct 20th they will be here by themselves.

How far from Woodland, WA are you guys? Got room for 2 rigs? Just thinking, I need to visit the place in Woodland that put in my wood floor. Need something else done.

PS I managed to get my pin to move back the the Resort, but may get it to move a bit again next week.
