flightdoc1
Hoping someone can help. I'm not very savy when it comes to mechanics. I purchased a Cobra CB radio and not sure how it needs to be installed. I own a 2009 Monaco Monarch Thanks Vin

scouserl41
If you don't already have an antenna then you will need one suitable for a glass fiber body. The antenna needs a ground plane and fiber glass won't do it. Try a marine/boat store, they'll know what you need. Get one with a spring at the bottom so if you brush a tree branch it wont snap off the antenna or tear a hole in your roof. 2009 Monaco Cayman DP 38' bnbrv.blogspot.com/
chuckbear
We used the Firestick antenna specifically designed for fiberglass bodies. That is what you will need if you are mounting to a typical RV, a no ground plane antenna. It does not have to be a marine antenna, they will cost you more and usually have a totally different mounting configuration. You will also need an SWR meter to tune the antenna after you have done the install. Many CB's have a built in SWR meter, but they are not adequate for tuning.
