Av8r3400
I've searched the forum and can't find it. I thought someone posted a link to a Volvo parts catalog. I'm looking for an exhaust or chassis part. I'm looking for what I would call a "Heat Shield/Debris Shield" that goes under the exhaust treatment components on the passenger side of the truck. I had to remove mine because it was hanging loose from being rusty. It mostly disintegrated during the removal process... I need to know what to call this thing to get a replacement. Av8r3400
Thank you, but neither of these is what I'm needing. I guess the part is more than just a heat shield. It was made of heavier gage steel and went from in front of the treatment system, under the DPF. I wish I could find a diagram of this area... Av8r3400
You can see the piece in this photo. It is the black, rusty piece of metal to the outside and below the DPF, the lower part of the photo. Darryl&Rita
Go to Home Depot, get a piece of galvanized sheet & a pair of tin snips, and go to town. I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again. 2000 Kenworth T 2000 w/N-14 and 10 speed Gen1 Autoshift, deck built by Star Fabrication 2006 smart fourtwo cdi cabriolet 2007 32.5' Fleetwood QuantumPlease e-mail us here. Av8r3400
It’s not sheet metal. That’s the problem, is seems to be a structural piece. Av8r3400
My local Volvo dealer had them in stock. Apparently this is a common thing to need replacement...
