water leak "up"

Hello. Hope you all had a great Thankgiving. 

My wife and I own a 2014 Tiffin Allegro (Open Road) - model 36LA. We are experiencing water between the kitchen cabinets and the dinnette. I have spoken with Tiffin and looked in and behind the cabinet (via the furnance duct-near the staiyway) and there is no obvious leak. What is weird about it is that the water will not appear regularly and it appears to on the tile near the dinnette. It will also apprear coming from directly under where the cabinet sits on the floor.

I assume that there may be a leak in the water line running to the sink. The problem is I cannot see the line as it presumably is between the insulation board and the floor itself. There is no water dripping under the coach and the water doesn't appear all of the time. We've tryed running the water in the sink to see if it would precipate the leak...nothing. The conundrum is that the only way to actually identify the leak (perhaps) is to take up the floor tile and floor board . That, as you can imagine, would be a major job and completely disruptive to our full-time lifestyle.

I have attached a picture of the area and scribbled where water has been present. To reiterate, when I see water near or coming from the cabinet, I have looked inside the cabinet and there is no water coming from anywhere I can see.

 

SO THE MYSTERY and only conclusion I can come up with is that there is a water line under the tile that has a in hole leak and the water is somehow shooting up into the flool and coming through the tile. This, by the way, makes no sense to me.

You may need to “expand” you box of where the water is possibly coming from. Doors, windows, vents, and anti-suction devices. Outside storage access doors at the belt line hinge area. Did you get some rain and/snow lately?  Have you done any maintenance or made any resent changes to the coach or you everyday routine?

Love these sort of mysteries. Especially when they are not mine.  

Water sources include refrigerator auto defrost which SHOULD be tubed to the outside?

Automatic ice maker line?

Shower water lines and drain plumbing?

Is there any dampness around your ceiling openings,  vents, A/C,  shower skylight?

Condensation on top of a basement holding tank?

Remember water can travel along shelves, pipes,  and wires a long way before presenting itself.

I would set up an elevated  cover over that area you hi-lited with cardboard and place paper towels on it to make sure it is not coming from above.

Try unleveling a few degrees sideways and front to back for a while  and see if anything changes or if you can force it to appear.

PS....I have had the "leak" at previous rv place in Sedona....also I shold adjust leveling with slide out, should I?

I highly doubt that you have a water line that is under the floor which could create the situation that you have. Such water lines can usually be seen from inside of the storage bays that they pass through. Water lines usually are inside of cabinets where they can be accessed and only go under the floor in places that there are no cabinets to hide them in. If the floorplan that I found is accurate, your plumbing should all be along the passenger side where the kitchen and bath are located. Might your cabinets have a false floor or back wall that hides the plumbing? I do not see how your water could come up from below as gravity would make most of it go down, even if sprayed.

Check your owner's manual and do as it suggests.

We had a similar issue in our Newmar 5er.  The leak was at the solenoid which supplied the ice maker.  Small leak, but it would make a puddle in the middle of the kitchen floor.

You may ascertain if you have a plumbing leak by using your water pump. Make sure every water outlet is off, water heater drain and over-pressure valve is not leaking, turn on water pump, after it stops running, watch and listen for the pump to short-cycle = turn on for a second then off. If it does not turn on for 30 minutes you do not have a water leak in your plumbing or pump. You know the rest.

 I am thinking that there is a leak somewhere that is possibly traveling on top of the adhesive that holds the tile down.

 As Rickeieio is saying, although it may sound impossible. I would be looking for an extremely small leak somewhere. A remote camera would be helpful to locate that leak. Another trick I have found to locate a leak is to wrap some paper towel around fittings and check occasionally.

 

 Yesterday I was on a service call for two water leeks after some heavy rain. First leak was a Maxxair vent cover that looks good, but the lip away from the hinge is warped by 3/16”. Put pure silicone on the seal, closed the lid and opened it. The seal did not transfer silicone all the way across the lid. Need to install a new lid.

 Second leek came out from under a interior wall at a corner. It only leaked after the heavy rain.  Looking around the roof and really no sealant problems that I could find. But above the wall where the leak was, possibly from a satellite  junction box. Remove cover and notice the seal which is like a square ring that goes around the entire box  felt dry. So I pulled the seal out and lubed it with pure silicone before installing. It will get tested this week to see
