Mtn.Mike
This will be the first time that I leave the motorhome on the lot in Florida. What is the consensus on turning my coach and chassis batteries off. I will be on shore power for the 6 months I'm gone and don't know it the batteries should be left on or off. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike Quote 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 40 PDQ being pushed by a 2013 MX-5 Miata.
Ray,IN
If you have a 3 or 4 stage charger they should be OK leaving them connected. The really safe method is to disconnect all negative battery cables after you are sure they are fully-charged; and turn off the charger function. Kirk W
There are quite a few variables in what is best but if you leave an RV refrigerator on it will shift to propane only if it has the battery to provide 12V, should you lose shore power. If nothing is left on then I would probably lift the negative cable from each battery to isolate them. I also like to use a float charger if available.
