SWharton
Did you mean to say 3 months, impossible to do in 3 weeks. Alaska is 4000 miles one way.
agesilaus
Plus it's a mystery whether Canada will open it's borders. Not sure if you can transit right now.

2gypsies
Don't try to make a ton of reservations. I read on another forum from someone living in Alaska that there may be a lot of closings all summer long and some tourist attractions may not even open. That goes for Denali Nat'l Park. The Canada/U.S. border is also closed now. This summer is not the summer for your trip. Try for next year. It could be done, but they would not see to much as they would need to cover a lot of miles everyday. SWharton
4000 is one way, the roads are not interstates and work is done on roads in the summer, major delays.
folivier
We went last year and 40mph was our average speed once up in Canada and throughout Alaska. We did have lots of trailers and class C and B pass us but also saw quite a few broken down. Slow down and enjoy the trip. MidMOTraveler
Lloyd and Angie I suggest you look at RVing toAlaska 2020 FB page. They are Escapees ( Pau Hana Travels) Lots of information and very up to date! There are several of us sitting on the fence trying to decide if and when to leave. Alaska RVing is an expensive trip and not one to be rushed. We were planning 3 months in Alaska and 6 weeks travel to/from home base in Missouri. We have our fingers crossed but have plan B. A couple cruise lines have canceled all Alaska cruises so lots of tourist things aren’t going to be available. Good luck
Bill w/bus
If you drove a lot every day, at 400 plus miles, you could see something of Alaska, Yukon and British Columbia. Our first trip in 2001 was. nine week trip. Our youngest was entering Junior year of high school so we were limited to ten weeks. Took three weeks to get to Tok. Three weeks in Alaska. Then three weeks to get home to Central Maine. We in our first bus conversion. Bus would cruise all day and night at the speed limit plus. Left on Father's day from our sons home in Mass. Second visit with second grandson. Arrived St Mary's, MT (Glacier NP) on Friday afternoon. Wife and daughter spent Wednesday at the Mall of America. Started playing tourist from then until leaving Wall Drug on Wednesday morning. Arrived home just after midnight Friday. Second trip was late April from the Rio Grande Valley and returned early November. That was about ten weeks in Alaska. Still not enough time to enjoy everything. Looking at the current situation with "pandemic" conditions I would consider next year. Unless you have driven 4-500 miles per day, every day, I don't think you understand just how exhausted you will be. Even if you have driven that many miles in a car but not an RV you still have no idea how exhausted you will be. Most of us try not to drive more than 200 miles per day and that not even every day. I liked to take every third day off driving and just stay put that day. hone eagle
Canada is closed to vacation travel right now ,when it opens is a guess -soon we all hope but the season is short up north and if the only can look forward to 1/2 a season will they bother? Also the border may only open on a state by state basis ( that are covid free ) pure guess work now and I doubt if and reservation can be made yet . Everybody is on hold. Snowbirds are already resigned to not getting south this fall, hoping otherwise but no one should make long term plans yet.
