Has water intrusion through the holes ever been a problem when it rains, or does the electrical box sit up from the roof to allow water drainage? Linda. The DPH is weatherproof, but I did use some plastic shims caulked to the bottom of the DPH to keep it off the bottom of the box. In addition the vent holes are drilled on the sides at the bottom of the box so water runs right out. It's been through a lot of rain here in Florida with no ill affects. It sits about two feet away from the Travl'r. Chuck Quote Chuck and Susan 1999 Fleetwood Bounder 34 Triton V10 on Ford Chassis

I'm surprised that the guy in the video didn't say anything about the DPH needing to be covered. It doesn't "need" to be but it helps with the longevity. With the switch on the roof, I only need the single coax through the roof, which was original with the DirecTV setup. So no new holes or running extra coax. Dutch_12078
The DPH42 hasn't been around long enough to have a good service life history, but I can say that Duo and Solo Nodes in the same style housing that have been in service outdoors unprotected since 2008.
