spindrift
How far do you want to be from downtown? Unfortunately, everything will be pretty much to the south and in-between Austin and San Antonio. Lots to choose from out in the Fredericksburg/Hill Country area. rickeieio
Check out 2E (Twin Elm) Ranch and RV on the south-west side of Bandera. We stayed there a couple years ago at the suggestion of Spindrift. Sites were barely long enough, not much in the way of fanciness, but very friendly folks, and good rates, especially if you're going to be there a while. If I remember correctly, it was $325/mo + electric. We'll likely be there a week or two in January. GlennWest
Barely long enough we may not fit. Wife has her car, my Smart and truck. That sure looks like a cool place. Likely go check it out. We have already paid for a month at Frederksburg Edited August 25, 2020 by GlennWest Quote 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
spindrift
Assuming you'll be coming out I-10 and then picking up SR71 towards Austin, there's also quite a lot to pick from in the Bastrop area which is about 30 miles east of Austin. These places are more budget friendly than the Fredericksburg area. A new place just opened in Kemah, off I-10...nice, but very close to 10. https://summerbreezeusa.com/ Whatever you do, don't make your trip at night. The construction activity along I-10, west of Houston goes on for a good 20-30 miles from Katy. There are multiple lane closures at night which make traffic horrendous. lockmup68
from Facebook group: Matias Serrata is with Amari Serrata . 14h · To all my Houston friends and any others that might be in harms way or in the path of the Hurricane. If you need a place to evacuate to with your RV, I own Boss RV Park located in Tilden, Tx and I have plenty of room to get you and your family out of harms way. It’s a bit far and a little over 3.5 hours west of Houston by Choke Canyon State Park, but definitely out of the cone of the Hurricane. DO NOT WORRY about the rates. There is NO PRICE worth any life and therefore I would waive any fee until the Hurricane passes and you can safely return home. 361-318-8007 Quote 2003 International Eagle 9200i, Cummins ISX, Freedomline 2007 Teton Scottsdale XT4
rickeieio
Now there's a big hearted couple. Glen, while the pads at 2E are skimpy, they're very generous about letting you park across the drive in the grass. Site 1-5 are back in, and longer. Also further away from the horses. GlennWest
This Frederickerson RV Resort is listed as HDT friendly in the Campgound section. It is but the RV pads are short. My Teton is 40' and it and truck don't really fit. I am sticking out into road about 3 foot. So these are basicly 60' pads. They are fine with it though and road is passable. Do have overflow parking also and may take them up on it. Haven't unloaded car yet. JFYI. I do a a rather bad air leak though I got to fix. Will not build but about 50 lbs idling. Will drop to 50 rather quick also. Does good running down road, So building air but leaking badly. Darryl&Rita
The statement I made was an attempt to remind people that insurance agents and other insurance people can read these forums, without signing in, and form policy based on what's posted. It doesn't take long to diagnose a cab air bag, take it out of service, and drive safely. Only takes a bit longer to repair properly.
