I always thought a Fird V10 EcoBoost all cammed and tuned to produce about 800 torques at 1845 rpm  and many HPs at 6000 rpm be a fun mill in a pick m up.

A 7.3 V8 should respond well to turbosupercharging in the torques department too.

"Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.

Modern engines are pretty amazing.  No matter the name on the valve cover, the new stuff is beyond what we dreamed about when I was in my formative years.

For instance, if you extrapolate the numbers of the 3.5 Eco out to 8 cylinders, you get a ~5.0L making 500 ponies and almost 600 lb/ft of torque.  Fun?  Uhh, yep.

We had a 2008 Corvette for a while.  It's bargain basement engine put out about the same as the much sought after 427/435 of the late '60s, and was civilized to boot.  Oh, and got 28-29 mpg at 80 mph.

BTW Lawrence, I find you new signature most fitting.😄
