Statin users may be 50% less likely to die in hospital from severe COVID-19

Not surprising, blood thinners and BP meds also reduce the incidence of severe symptoms , need for ventilators, etc.  Anything that helps with the inflammatory response seems to reduce risks of severe complications.

When I posted the url the whole article appeared in large print.

You probably put the URL into the "other media" section on the lower left in place of using a link at the top of the page.

Well this is certainly a good new article for those of us that have had to take statins for years for high cholesterol and/or heart disease in case we get covid and the studies SUGGEST may prevent me from getting C virus along with vaccine, mask, etc. so yes I am a happy camper and I feel sorry for those who aren't.  Too bad.

P.S. Years ago I read medical news of other health benefits of statins but others will have to do  own their own research.  This may be new news to others but I first heard about it at a news conference in 2020. I do enjoy getting off my couch and looking for good news.

All that we have learned during the past year about how to treat the disease has helped in lowering number of deaths.   Trying to stay ahead of the inflammatory process is important, as is NOT putting people on ventilators for as long as possible.
