Time to go
😅 I'm considering purchasing a 18 Equinox FWD and want to know is it dingy towable (1) and (2) does it roll up the miles while being towed?
Kirk W
(1) According to the 2018 Motorhome Magazine Dinghy Towing Guide, it is. The best thing to do though is to check the owner's manual. (2) No modern vehicle has an odometer that operates when the ignition is one on. They have all been electric for a very long time. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Bill Joyce
"Front-wheel-drive (1.5L gas FWD/ 1.6L diesel) and AWD (1.6L diesel only) vehicles can be towed. Shift transmission to Neutral. Ignition to ACC. Turn off accessories. Run vehicle at the beginning of each day and at each fuel stop for about 5 minutes. See owner’s manual." Pappy Yokum
Be sure to check the owner's manual !! IIRC - When the transmissions were upgraded (date? - 2018? - or -2019?) the answer changed to "NO". > > (Gas engines) My 2016 was/is a "YES" - and my owner's manual indicates it's "OK". BTW: I wanted a six cyl rather than a 4 cyl, with Front Wheel Drive. That combo not available with Equinox. Went with GMC Terrain (same as Equinox - except for FWD w/ 6 cyl, gas) Soooooo ...... *verify* and double check the yes/no by model year/s 😉  Edited June 25, 2021 by Pappy Yokum
Ray,IN
I have seen published dingy towing guides that are just plan wrong for a specific vehicle. The owner manual for that particular vehicle is the final authority. Quote  2000 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom USQ40JD, ISC 8.3 Cummins 350, Spartan MM Chassis.
