Wrknrvr
Curious if anyone has traveled this area to bypass The Denver area. Headed down I-25 to New Mexico, but really do not like congestion on highways. I have traveled the eastern edge of Colorado on a nice two lane road. Thanks in advance, Vern
2gypsies
190 easy miles. Doesn't make sense to go through Denver. dmk
This past June I traveled from West I-76 to Brush, then South on CO 71 to Limon, then US 24 to Colorado Springs. Very good route it brings you to the South end of Colorado Springs. Guess you could also stay on 71 to 10 towards Walsenburg... or even 71 to US 350 towards Trinidad.... 71 isn't the widest road but it works way better than going through Denver unless your going to pay to take the E470. safe travels! jenandjon
I hate Denver. Any route around is better than through. I ran all over eastern Colorado in the 90s pulling a grain hopper. really pretty country. DJohns
Go down to Rocky ford then 10 to Walsenburg. Better road than 350 to Trinidad. Don't go from Brush to Limon in a snow storm. They quit plowing at 5:00 PM. Quote 2002 Beaver Marquis Emerald C-12 Cat 505 HP 2014 Volvo 630 D-13 I Shift SOLD 2017 New Horizons SOLD
rickeieio
Vern, you can jump off I-90 at Laramie onto 287 down to 14 in Ft. Collins, then east to 71. Then 71 south as described above. I've been through that way with our rig, and Ft. Collins isn't bad. 71 is pretty good with light traffic. 10 to Walsenburg is arrow straight and good.
