Man steals truck camper with people sleeping in back

 

It played out on June 11. The truck and camper’s owner didn’t have room for two guests in his apartment, so he put them up in the truck camper out front. But around 3 a.m., the couple woke to find their cozy “guest room” was moving. Someone had stolen the truck, unaware that the rig was occupied.

Fearful of what might happen if the RVers inside the camper made themselves known, they quietly dialed 9-1-1.

Police located the stolen vehicle and hit their red light and siren, but the driver kept going. Who knows how long that might have continued, but the alleged thief, David Bradley Metz, 46, goofed and turned onto a dead-end street.
