replacement propane stove top

Recommended Posts

We have an Amanda stove top and igniters no longer work and parts are no longer available. Mine is 21 ish" wide and opening can't be changed easily. Is the Surburban the better unit or Atwood.

I ended up using a Greystone cooktop and it's been fine. The current Attwood was about a half-inch wider than the '93 Attwood and I wasn't about to try cutting the corian countertop to make it fit.

Have you considered switching to an induction cooktop?  If you both have considered it, now would be the best time.

DW has already told me, if our 24 yr old LP cooktop quits, she wants an induction cooktop.

Greystone Electric is another mfgr.

It would require a 20 amp breaker. Not sure how much trouble to pull a wire would be. It is on a slide out and breaker box on opposite side. The Dometic is a 1400 watt unit. It may work on a 15 amp circuit. 1800 watt is max for 15 amp

  • 2 weeks later...

We put the Atwood slide in unit. I was very disappointed in the lower frame. Very thin sheet metal. Unit had movement with it. Took it back off, trashed the bottom piece. Added aluminum angle to sides and screwed it down. Solid now.
