I then tried to call with no luck. I then sent an email, and still have not heard back, which is not a good sign, but...... So my question is, the indoor cassette unit, can I mount this vertically instead of horizontal? I do not need the condensate drain pump system, and can install my own drain hose connection at the bottom (installed orientation bottom). In the old days a brush type motor sometimes would be made with bearings that preferred to only be ran in the original design orientation. Today that does not seem to ever much be a concern, however.....? It is mounting space limitations that require the need for this indoor unit type. Thank you for any information. GlennWest Posted July 16 Report Share Posted July 16 Go to highseer.com. They are the distributor for Pioneer and offer great support and warranty. Also the cassette goes in one way only. It hangs on rods. Pioneer also has a slimline unit also. Fit between your studs. I would have used the slimline if it had been on market when I did mine. lappir Posted July 17 Report Share Posted July 17 My reading of the instructions indicate to me that it's not a wall model and only acceptable installation is in a ceiling. I've seen wall mounted units, but not by this company. Deezl Smoke Posted July 17 Author Report Share Posted July 17 I watched a video on ceiling cassettes, and it sounds like the only issue would be the condensate drain. I can easily correct that issue. They also said very high humid areas may need to insulate the outside of the cassette as it may sweat and cause water damage to the surrounding material. Quote I'm a work'n on it.
