steved44
We had a nice visit with Steve, Sandie and "Yoda",yesterday. They pulled into the Eugene Elks after dark and we walked to Applebee's to "break bread". Talked about everyone, so all of your ears should be ringing this morning. They are going to fuel up and head out south this morning. Last time we saw them was in Feb 09 at a BLM site just West of Tuscon. That's what this lifestyle is all about. They are also going to be in "Q" in Jan for the class get together. IYQ
Well after about 5 tries I managed to get on the internet again. I found that one of my troubles is my Wilson Amp seems to have quit working. It keeps saying there is no signal. Yet when I put my air card up to the window with the blinds open I can get a week signal. I went to dump the other day and got fresh water when I got back I decided with all that water I should take a little and scrub the floor as the coat of dirt on it was causing me to bump my head on the ceiling. After the floor job I wiped down the various cans and sinks then I took a shower. Now I'm about to need water again. This could be a vicious cycle. Today I didn't do much of anything except stand on the corner and watch all the cowgirls go bye. Shadowtracks
Too soon to tell for sure (and we're not even sure about that), but we may be able to get to the gathering in Q. We're currently at the SKP park in Benson, recovering from Turkey Day (no spaghetti). We'll be moving up to Tucson for December to get our yearly maintenance (doctors appointments) done along with rig and toad maintenance, supporting the local economy, wandering the 4th Avenue Fair, etc.  January looks busy but since fuel prices have gone down, we've traded our flux capacitor in for a temporal dilation inductor (day stretcher). Not sure it's working right just yet, cause when we get up at the crack of eleven, noon still comes along right after it... Wanderin
We're hoping to be there (Class of 08), but won't know for sure until early January. Â That's wonderful! This is going to be the biggest and best get together yet! I'm sure it'll be so much fun with all the food to share and stories to tell. We're looking forward to it! steved44
Hmmmmm, lets see now. The blue wire from the Temporal dilation keyboard is the same as the grey wire with the blue stripe going from the flux capacitor to the dilithium crystal container. The red wire from the dilation keyboard has to go to the activation module on the flux. Ahhhhh the black wire is temporal ground. Ok, I changed them out and flipped the switch and all the smoke came out. EEEEEKKKKK , oh well back to the drawing board. At least the activation at the "crack of eleven" seems to work. IYQ
I need to borrow that dialation thingy and get some of these joints working again. I got some of those things that stabilize your wrist and they don't hurt as much while I have them on but I can't seem to type while wearing them. They are full of miss typed words. Come to think of it my fingers found a lot of miss typed words before I got the things for my wrist. I drove to Brawley CA twice today once for me and once to take the President to Wal-Mart to get some goodies for next weeks dinners. While there I stopped at a restaurant and had a steak. It was so tough I had to get my Jack Knife out to cut it. I think I swallowed each piece I cut whole but my jaw got a good work out. Â Now something has gone haywire on my PC. All the areas on the screen that should be white are red. I rebooted several times thinking a new copy of the operation system might cure the problem but no dice. It makes it pretty hard to read some of the type. steved44
Ok, Ok, I think I got it... I tried the manual, but it was transparent, hmmmmm, I then remembered I had a small portable black hole with an adjustable "event horizon" that I used to gather up all the smoke that I had inadvertently let out of the system on the first test. This gave me time to reposition the temporal ground wire, re-hook it to the deletion terminal and that seemed to work. I may have sent an erroneous signal that was picked up by Lee's PC and turned his screen red, but other than that we are "good to go". Now all I have to do is trim the "webbed feet" off BessyBus and head south. Striper
Reading about all you guys moving finally got to me. Went to Wally World and got a fresh supply of Dilithium Crystals, cranked up the Warp Drive and hit the road this morning. Didn't go as far as Jeri and Terry but I did manage 10 miles. Actually the great little County Park I was at refused to let me stay over the 2 week limit that the Commissioners have instituted. So as of this morning there were 3 of us in a 40 space RV Park and now there is only 1 left. Â On the bright side though, for $1.00 more per day I now have full hookups and satellite TV. steved44
Ed & Linda, that's great that the recall did it's job. It's a scary deal. Ours caught fire before it was included in the recall, and Carol had just been asleep in the bus, so we know how that feels. We replaced ours with a Dometic Sidewise. About the same price as a norcold, but works much better. Of course you can replace the cooling unit for quite a bit less. Mike and Julie did that to theirs and it works fine now. Shadowtracks and Mike did the job and put it on you-tube. The other scenario is replacing it with a residential unit, but you would probably have to add a couple of batteries and a pure sine wave inverter. I really didn't have any room for more batteries, but Norcold paid the bill because of the fire, so we went with the new Dometic. We did have to fight with them for 5 months to get them to pay, but finally got it. So glad you guys are safe. sandsys
Scary stuff. We did the recalls plus installed the behind-the-frig fire extinguisher. No point in taking chances. So glad you are safe even if broke again. Â The more I think about this the more I wonder why it is costing you at all. Isn't this a Norcold problem? After all, they are the ones who chose to install a shutoff system instead of actually fixing the problem. It's still their problem, right? IYQ
Ed and Linda, So glad you are safe. I have a Norcold but it's the two door job with the freezer over the Frig. As far as I know it has not been recalled but your problem will light a fire under me to get busy and check again with Norcold. I think you should fight with Norcold a bit. I agree with Linda S. It's there fault all these friges are burning up. Â Didn't do much today. I got some of those Wrist stabilizers yesterday and wore them to bed last night. I managed to sleep through the night without being awakened by the pain in my wrist. So Maybe I'm on the right track. I sure hope so. Living with all this pain is a pain. Â I think we saw the last of the Turkey today. The President served Turkey Soup at Happy Hour today. Now we can gear up for Christmas. We kicked off the Christmas Charity drive this afternoon at Happy Hour. So I gave them the cane I had prepared for that purpose. I hope they put a little more effort into getting tickets sold outside of our own group here. ccsimpson
11/28 to 12/5 or may stay the season at Palm Gardens RV Park in Mesa, AZ. Visited a few other parks today to see what is out there and 2 were full and the others were too tight for us to get into. Prices vary. So will scout some more areas the next couple of days before we decide to stay where we are or not. Even the sire we have now was really tough to get into because you have to avoid park model awnings, mail boexes, and palm trees. Seems like the parks are not really RV designed and mostly park models. Mesa really does need a new park just for RVs only. IYQ
Back to the drawing board. I mentioned buying those cuffs to stabilize my wrist at night so I could sleep. And Sleep I did but I found that buy keeping my wrist immobile they really hurt in the morning when I took the cuffs off. This morning it took me about an hour to get my shoes on cause I couldn't move my wrist. They gradually improved during the day and tonight they are back to about normal. That, being sore if I put force on them like trying to open a jar or something. While I was sitting out in front of my trailer one of the ladies came over from the kitchen and ask me to come look at a drawer that fell apart. I went over there and found the bottom had fallen out of the silverware drawer. So sore wrist and all I went over and fixed the drawer. At least I have a reason for them being sore now. Rule number one don't hammer and saw while you have sore wrist. Oh well it isn't often an old man has a young lady come over and ask him to look at her drawers. sandsys
Lee, That sounds like you have carpal tunnel syndrome. I hope not. It takes forever to heal. Sometimes when I wear my wrist braces (for my tennis elbow not carpal tunnel) my fingers clamp down on them during the night which does indeed make things worse. If you can keep your hands relaxed it helps. I also have to rest my hands on a small pillow to keep them elevated but again that's because of my weird elbows--my arms don't come close to being straight.
