11/8 to 12/5 or may stay the season at Palm Gardens RV Park in Mesa, AZ. Visited a few other parks today to see what is out there and 2 were full and the others were too tight for us to get into. Prices vary. So will scout some more areas the next couple of days before we decide to stay where we are or not. Even the sire we have now was really tough to get into because you have to avoid park model awnings, mail boexes, and palm trees. Seems like the parks are not really RV designed and mostly park models. Mesa really does need a new park just for RVs only.

Carol

I agree whole heartedly with that! We have been up there and Apache J. and looked at several, if not all and our bus just doesn't fit. We weren't convinced about putting up with the traffic and all....if we get our rig sold and downsize, it will change the thought process and open a lot of doors...

Oh the thrill of fulltiming! A couple of days ago I took the rig and dumped the tanks. Brought it back to my spot and set it up again. While extending the slide I heard a funny popping sound. It turns out the bracket that holds the ram on the bottom of the slide frame tore loose. Fortunately the slide is out. But I cannot move the trailer until it's repaired. There is NO mobile welding unit in Quartzsite. I had to call Blythe and make an appointment to have them come out and repair next week.

As an added thrill, I was looking at my Blue Flame heater last night and noticed it had 2 pilot lights burning. That seemed to be one more that it needed so I decided to give it a closer look. It turns out a seal on the side of the gas valve had began to leek and ignited. This allowed a small flame to erupt on top of the valve directly beside the incoming gas line. It certainly didn't take me long to disconnect that sucker.

So it was off to the heater store this morning to get a new heater. While there, I told the fellow about the heater failure. He says to bring it in and he will replace it. Ya can't beat that! I wanted a second one for my "K-LINES Casita" anyway.

Now, there is supposed to be a major storm coming tomorrow. High winds and all that stuff.

So if you are not in Quartzsite, you might want to wait a few days.

Lee, you don't need wrist braces. You need hand cuffs! They will help you stay out of that ladies drawers!

Sorry to hear about your slide AND heater. I guess when bad luck hits, it hits! Thanks for the heads up on the storm. We were actually heading to "Q" tomorrow. Now I think we'll put it off until Friday-ish. Terry's in South Dakota today otherwise I'd want to hightail it down there before the storm hit. However, no such luck! We'll just stick around Scottsdale for a little bit longer. :D

Well, we made it to Coos Bay today and got a space in the Mill Casino RV park. Nice park, 50A, Full hook ups, WIFI, Cable TV, Hot tub, indoor heated pool, and a host of restaurants! What a place, just looking at the bay out the front window. All this for $15 per night and they gave us one night free for staying a week. Heck we may just move in here  .. Went to the pool a while ago and we were the only ones there. You mean people come to these casino's to gamble? Nice sunny day today and we checked out another lighthouse too. Now we have to go in (on the shuttle), and get our $5 off on the buffet. Hmmmmmmm :P

Steve cashing in on all that VIP treatment and all I got tonight was spaghetti and meatballs and a wilted salad and it cost me 5 bucks. But the worse part was that the Spaghetti wasn't near as good as the stuff I con our ladies out of when we meet each January.

Today I got volunteered to fix a cabinet door. So I drove into Calipatria to see what I could find to fix it with. I think I'm going to have to mess up a job so that the gals won't head for my rig every time something breaks. I keep telling myself it's because I'm so handsome but that old fart that lives in my mirror really fusses when I say that.

I didn't wear the wrist cuffs last night and got woke up about 5 times but the wrist felt pretty good this morning and I got them functioning with in the first half hour or so.

The weather was a mess today. 30 mph winds, so overcast I couldn't get my batteried charged. and the high temperature for the day was 65 which happend last night at midnight. The Low for the Day was 54 and that's right now 5pm. I sat inside all day and made about a million cups of coffee in my microwave. (I wonder why my batteries wouldn't charge. LOL) We had Happy Hour in the Theater because it was too uncomfortable outside at the tables. Tomorrow a bunch of us are going to the Italian Restaurant in Brawley. That's always good. That Italian looks a heck of a lot like a Chinaman but the cooking is exellent. It isn't supposed to get back to our 75 and 80 degree days until the middle of next week. Oh well, all that beautiful sunshine was getting monotonous

It seems that hitch itch got to me the other day and before I knew what had happened I found myself sitting in Radio City Music Hall. Their Christmas program was GREAT. Then we took a short walk to Times Square and finished off the evening with dinner at "The View", a rotating restaurant I the Times Square Marriott.

Then yesterday found me in Oyster Bay doing a tour on Teddy Rosevelt's place. Not sure what adventure in on the horizon for today, but the weather is a bit on the cool side.

Looks like Joe got the "warp drive" fixed. I'll bet the Christmas decorations are pretty up there. you can't beat those shows up there. You're going to need some good brakes on that thing to make sure you don't overshoot your landing by a couple of states or so.

The casino bus came and got us last night and took 8 of us about 15 miles to a state park that had a Christmas light display. Nice clear night and the lights were beautiful. They had a gingerbread house in the middle of it all with hot cider and cookies even. They let us wander around there for an hour or so and then brought us right back to the bus. These people are on top of things for sure. This place must be crowded in the summertime, but it's pretty nice now. Nice to have FHU's to get caught up on laundry.

I've got to adjust the air in the truck tires for the lower temperatures. My alarms on the Pressure Pro are about to drive me nuts. The bus didn't drop quite so much, so not a problem, but the truck went down about 7 or 8 lbs all around and it sets the check tire beeper off. Nobody is parked beside us, so I guess it's a good time to do it. Happy Trails Steve

Tonight 10 of us went to the Italian Restaurant in Brawley, CA for dinner. The food was delicious and the company even better. We really had a good time. Today the weather was a little better. We did get a little sunshine but the temperature was still a little on the cool side but no wind. Right when the sun was high enough in the sky to really get some charging done on my battries the clouds came in and messed that idea all up. It only made it to 95 Percent charging the batteries today. I'll go a little easy on electric tonight so It don't have so much current to replace and hope we get the sun back all day tomorrow. Tomorrow morning they are serving breakfast here at the LOW's slab. They won't serve until about 8:30 and by that time I'll have already eaten breakfast in my rig. So I'll opt out of that one.

Oh Ya, but I'll be back in warm weather again soon and headed back west.

J & J, put Bandit in doggie jail for this trip, but the show and view was great.

Steve, yep the Warp Drive is really cook in now. Sounds like you guys were at Sunset State Park. That's a really great place to watch a storm also.

I most definitely am putting that place on our list of "Must Sees" Hope you're not getting too much of a chill! We are enjoying a "SNOW DAY" snowed all morning and took a break and now is back at it just as hard. 7" on the ground so far! DH has made one trip and cleaned the driveway once already with the snow blower! (started up the first time - even after 2 years!) We're in warnings until midnight. Curling up with book weather, not venturing out til it clears up! Hitch itch you say? YES Most definitely! Seen the white stuff...am ready to go now!!!

We had a stiff breeze today and it was coming right off that White stuff Fuffy is talking about. I've been working on a cabinet door one of our gals sort of mangled as she was trying to fix it. I've got it back in shape now and will re-install it in the morning. Other than that I haven't done much today. It's just not that comfortable outside.

Managed to squeeze on more trip out of the warp drive yesterday. Back in Florida now preparing to head back west. Not real sure of my route or stopping points yet. Only plan is to be in Yuma the 15th.

Steve, not a lot of Christmas lights out yet. I really don't understand what makes people put up with living that way though.

I know what you mean about it not being that comfortable outside. I'm thinking I need a warm beach someplace and I need it NOW. Just because there's a Yacht Club here in "Q" doesn't mean there's a warm beach.

Thanks, I'll see if I'm gonna have time to stop there. Was a Bad Day at Black Rock, or rather Hidden River RV Resort, today. Was gonna go have the propane filled and "The Doghouse" wouldn't start. Just sat here and cranked over, but refused to fire up. Seemed like the more I tried, the more it said, I ain't gonna run and you can't make me. :( Fast forward a few hours and the diagnoses is a now defunct High Pressure Fuel Pump. So tomorrow it's gonna get a tow to get that taken care of. Looks like I'm just gonna have to stay here for another few days.

Ok, now it's time for some Baaaaddddd Whiskey.

12/5 to 3/5/2012 at Palm Gardens RV Resort in Mesa, AZ. Here for the winter and after checking other parks, we decided on this one since we were already here for the week. Got the LAST site available for the season only due to a late cancellation! Whew, that was lucky! Now we will just hang out with all the other THOUSANDS of snowbirds!

Anyone have a Blue Flame heater in their RV or suggestions? We thought we might add one since using the furnace burns propane at a much faster rate. Or, at least we think it burns at a much faster rate. That's what the salesperson told us at least. We also looked at the Big Buddy and Komfort World but they get hot on the outside ... or, so the salesperson told us.
