I feel like we crossed the border going the wrong way today. Snow on the ground here and I'm chilled and can't get warm. You'll soon see me wrapped up in my comforter wishing I had some hot chocolate. :)

Nice day today, Fairly warm and just a slight breeze. This morning I sat over in front of our new club house and watched Terry and Jim slave away at putting the finishing touches on it. They worked so hard on it I had to go home and take a Steve. This afternoon I took my first trip to town and spent all my money. Now all I can do is sit and figure a way to get at Jeri's cranberry juice. I tried to carve for a while this afternoon but my wrist went out on strike after only about a half hour.

Happy New Year Everybody! Hope this finds ya all well and ready to have a better 2012! We had a good time Ringing in the New Year here at Yuma. Haven't done that for years! Has been a quiet day today! Sounds like all you at Q already are getting pretty busy.... and I wrote the coordinates down so that we can find ya. I still have Jeri's phone #, if it's the same as last year cause we're pretty good at getting lost! We will be headed up there one of these days....Not quite got the jello stirred up good enough. I know we want to look at some of the RV Dealers and do some looking around. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. Just let me know if I need to bring Speghetti to help out feeding the Speghetti Man! I'll bring what ever else ya want me to! Dan is down today with his back out of whack....so it'll depend on the shape he's in too. I won't let him ride that far if he's still in bad shape. It's been two years this time since he's had a flare up, and can't remember doing anything to cause it. Glad we're not on the move or needing to move anytime soon. Enjoy the desert and keep the jackets handy, as it really chills down at night!

As Always,

Shortly after this post it came to a grinding halt. Literally. Both tires on the passenger side of the rig gone. Seems one lug nut on the back one broke off, the tire must have flown off and then the front tire shredded apart.

WE ARE SAFE. We will deal with this. Nothing is stopping us now. Delayed but not for long.

We'll tell you all about it when we see you. ;)

So glad you are OK; the rig can be fixed as you well know by now. But, I'm not going to see you so some details here or on your blog would be nice when you've recovered.

We all loaded up into Jim's and Terry's cars this evening and took off for the Palo Verde Restaurant in town. I don't know if the meal was good or not cause I was too busy talking. The Waitress was still alive and breathing when we left so I guess the food was fine. With all the talking that was going on, you guys should really have some ringing ears. I can't think of anyone we missed talking about. Every time I'd come up with a good story about y'all, Jeri would embellish it. She mistakenly came very close to getting back to the truth a couple of times. I'll tell y'all, you better get here fast or someone will start believing what we say about y'all. Bring WOOD, Cranberry juice will do if you can't find wood. None of the wood venders seem to be around this year. At least not yet.

Here we are in the truck stop Jeri recommended at Exit 278 at Aurora, Oregon. What a freaky experience. We love it. Hundreds and hundreds of huge trucks. Most running their engines all night but that lulls you to sleep. I think we are the only RV here. My aircard ran out of time and we have to find a Wells Fargo to deposit money into so for now I am on $1.99 for 1 hour Wi Fi. We are heading for the casino in Corning, CA today. Over the hills. Wish us luck.

We will watch for wood and Cranberry juice will be coming from Walmart in Parker. We call it 2 buck up chuck, you call it whatever you want. We are definitely gonna need some after this trip. But hey, the rest is going to be smooth sailing.

For you Linda S. - a lug nut on the back tire of the trailer snapped off. That tire just flew away, somewhere?? That caused the front tire on the same side to explode. We were on the I5 just in front of the fort at Fort Lewis, WA. The trailer was starting to roll over. Doug (crazy but desperate) rolled under it and placed two jacks. I was frantically calling cops and tow trucks on Skype because our phone is out. We waited 2 hours for a tow, stayed overnight in a parking lot and bought everything to get back on the road again. My husband is amazing. We can buy parts and he does all the work.

Anyhow, we are safe and in good spirits. We sure will be needing those {{{hugs}}} when we get there.

What an experience!! It's that kind of thing that you don't want to happen. You are right! Doug was crazy to roll underneath. I'm glad he was safe. My guess is we will see you at the end of the week .... BE SAFE!!

Fog is out there but mountains should be clear with no snow in the forecast for today and the winds are light. :D Fog is near zero visibility around Roseburg. Hoping fog lifts before you get down the road.

Toni & Doug, glad to hear you got the rig going again, you sure don't want to "tip it over" and spill the two buck up chuck. Hope the rest of your trip is smooth sailing! Steve

We took a little ride today and ended up in Q. After a phone call to Jeri, I looked up to see a Lime Green 4 wheeler with a semi crazy lady driving. So I followed her and darned if it didn't turn out to be Jeri, not some crazy lady after all. Had a good visit with Jeri, Jim and Sandie, Denise(?), Lee, and Mr and Mrs Coldsmoke. Then it was off to the big city of Quartzsite for a bit of shopping before returning to the more settled area of Winterhaven. Yes we talked about everyone that wasn't there and decided on lots of things. However we didn't talk about a Group Night Out for Dinner. So I'd like to propose that we have Dinner at "Da Boyz" once again.

Ok, bout time for Happy Hour so I gots to run. Steve the Baaad Whiskey supply in in grave danger. :o

What? Da Boyz is in YUMA!! I doubt they would set a seat for Duchess, Smokey, Skittles, Scooter or Bennie. I agree that we definitely need to do more than one "Group Night Out for Dinner" as you mentioned. One just isn't enough.

We did have a few folks stop by after you left. Do you think they waited on purpose?? Sailbad and Millie showed up. Right behind them Linda and her husband from the class of 2007 pulled their 5th wheel in. Then, their friends, Joe and Marsha stopped to visit them.

That's all I'm going to add. My lips are sealed about the adventures today.

Well I think we need a vote on this, you know there isn't anything in Q to compare with Da Boyz. :P

Yep I saw them sitting beside the road waiting to make sure I wasn't going to return after my trip into town.

Joe

I actually have to agree to that. Of course, there is Silly Al's.

Yep, they were lining up waiting for you to pull out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I just read the post on directions to the site we parked at on the Class of 2007. Golly, I was confused by those directions and I'm already here. :P

It's easy -- call me.

Or, follow the directions we posted earlier.

There are several places to turn off the main road to the left as you enter. One is by the Art and Jan sign before you get to the dump. This sign is on the left side of the road. On the right side of the road is another sign that says - line starts here for dump. The road marker indicates it is road 583. Turn left at that point and follow that road through three very small (easy) washes and then turn left just after the 3rd wash and road marker 591. We put a yellow ribbon on it but not sure if it will stay. It's about one mile in on the BLM road from Hwy 95 and just before the garbage cans.
