Classes of 2008 and 2009

Recommended Posts

Hi Sue, I see you guys are staying in Mesa. We are looking for a CG on the east side of Phoenix for the end of March and first week of April. We've checked a couple places and they are booked. Nothing fancy...no need for activities, etc... Any suggestions

Thanks

Paul (and Marsha)

Hi Paul,

yes, we love Usery Mountain but it is no longer first come first served, you can make a reservation:

Usery. they do have availability.

We are also staying in Lost Dutchman SP in Apache Junction area. they show availability as well.

the park we are staying in now is Val Vista Village- they are Passport America but those sites are pretty small. We fit, but not happily.

Sue my clothes fit but not happily either. And that's a stretch.

I made another adapter for a bayonet bulb base from a 110 AC Screw-in bulb base. It's much better than the one I made the other day for the goose neck lamp. I'll cut the plug off an extension cord drop light and put battery clamps on in their place. Then I can play the current bush game again and not use up too much battery while doing so. I'm going to re-do the one for the goose neck clamp on lamp using a better 921 style socket. The one I made the other day lets the bulb slip out too easyily.

I'd like to come down to Yuma and get in on some of the fun down there but that's a pretty long drive. Maybe if someone would do my laundry for me I could be enticed into driving that far. You guessed it. The laundry still isn't done I've managed to get by another day without doing it. Maybe if I could find the laundry that the Dallas Cowgirls use I'd finally stop procrastinating.

Last couple of days here in Yuma have been pretty windy. So not much has been happening, well other than a Steak feed around a Mesquite fired Open Pit BBQ for a group. Heading back to Mexico today with friends for lunch, then probably just kick back the rest of the day.

Starting to get things ready for a move the end of the week. Dang pin is stuck so hard in the map I may never get it loose.

I know what you mean about the pin getting stuck. I wonder if we'll be able to move ours today. Paul and Marti moved out yesterday and then Steve and Carol followed. We shared our last "Q" campfire last night with Gary, Pat, Jeff and Doug. Today we're on the road again .... well, if we can get that pin to move again. We're ready to go. We had thought we'd originally move onto the BLM at Sidewinder Road with a few but after the few left, we decided to go into a park and wash all this "Q" grit out. I can hardly wait to take one of those hour long showers. I hope Carol didn't use up all the Yuma hot water last night when she got there. :D

I sat outside in the shade and carved on a Gnome Home today. Very relaxing. At happy hour tonight the President served chicken, noodle, carrot, potato, and bean soup and some hot dogs. No wonder I gained back all the weight I lost last Summer. I took a nice long walk this morning. I'm getting in practice to walk to Yuma and bum some Cranberry Juice from everyone to quench my thirst after all that walking. I didn't bum enough from everyone at Q to last the rest of the winter. The town of Niland, CA is having a salute to the Troops during their Tomato Festival. The Slab LOWs are going to be in the parade and want me to ride on their float. To Me that sounds like a set up. Being in California it sound like they are going to get all the service people to ride on a float so they can throw tomatoes at them. LOL

Interesting day here in the Yuma area. First off, Steve managed to get up well before 11am :o . Him and Carol met us at the "Q" for breakfast, well there were a couple of other folks showed up to. Jeri and Terry, Kay and Dan, Joe and his friend Lynda and her daughter, aka the Kid, as well as Connie and her husband.

Then tonight Jeri, Terry, Lynda, and I all met up at The Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Dang seems like all I've done today is EAT.

Yeah it was a fairly even swap. Or, was it bribery to get your chair back (the chair you left in "Q")? We delivered your chair and then got lots of low calorie, low carb fudge thrown in. We're inviting everyone to Joe's place on Saturday for another BBQ and another campfire. Or, was it Lynda who invited us all on Saturday???? :D Either way, we'll be there. Anyone else? I think it's a BYOS event.

And, I walked out of the casino this morning with an extra $170 more than I walked in with!!! Things are looking up!

It was a fantabulous day today at the Slabs. I sat out in front of my trailer and carved all day. I had started a Gnome Home last year before I went up to Minnisota and when I had that hip problem is just sat there with nothing being done. I picked it up today and really got a lot done on it. Then I was so tired when it came supper time that I went down to the Buckshot in Niland and had a couple of pork chops. And there goes another day in the laundry saga. It still sits there blocking my wardrob door from opening. Where are all those cowgirls when you need one.

Not sure where you are Jeri. We are leaving in the morning early and would really like to know where you are. Are you at Pilot Knob? Are Freddy and Delcie there?

I will look here in the morning. If not I guess we will just go to the place we were last year.

And......count us in for a BBQ at Joe's place.

$170!!! now you told us you never go to the casino~

Actually it is going to be a Hot Dog Roast. We will provide Hot Dogs and Buns as well as the Fire to cook them on. It will be BYOB and if dishes are needed to share I'll post soon. A head count would be nice, hope you can all attend. I'll be heading west and north the following morning.

Jim's surgery was a success according to the doctor. Jim is feeling really lousy so I'm not sure he'd agree but we'll give him a few days before we ask him. I am so impressed with the doctors and this hospital. Oasis Hospital is new - only opened last June and it is strictly a Spine and Orthopedic Surgical Center. Seems strange to go to such a specialized "hospital". No emergency room, no sick people. Just people needing bones and backs fixed or replaced.

You guys have fun in Yuma. Wish we were going to Da Boyz with you.

Glad to hear Sandie! I may be wanting some info about this hospital and a reference for a Doctor if Dan's Back situation doesn't clear up! We're almost to the last resort. Take care, wish you were here too! Maybe next year! Hope Jim's up and feeling better in no time! Thee's fish with his name on 'em!
